ACNC AIS Lodgement
Annual Information Statement prepared, reviewed and lodged on time, every time. We never let an ACNC deadline slip — because a missed AIS can cost you your registration.
CoreSpecialist accountants for Australian charities, not-for-profits, sports clubs and community organisations. ACNC, DGR, FBT, audits and grant acquittals — all the work your board shouldn't have to think about.
Your volunteer treasurer joined the board to serve the mission — not to wrangle ACNC reports, audit firms, FBT returns and grant acquittals. They're stretched, stressed, and the board doesn't know what they don't know.
ACNC tiers. AIS deadlines. Audit thresholds. DGR maintenance. FBT caps. Salary packaging rules. ATO concessions. It's a moving target and missing it costs you concessions worth $15,900 per staff member per year.
Restricted vs unrestricted funds. Grant acquittals due to different funders in different formats. Reserves policy not in writing. The board's asked twice — but no-one's brought it together cleanly.
We fix all three. A 15-minute call, no charge.

Most accountants do a bit of everything. We chose the not-for-profit sector on purpose — because the rules are different, the stakes are different, and the way your board reads a financial report is different too.

Every lodgement, every deadline, every concession to confirm. The same checklist we run for the charities, sports clubs and community groups on our books.
If you're a registered charity, incorporated association or company limited by guarantee — yes. NFPs have their own reporting framework (ACNC), their own concessions (FBT cap, GST, income tax exemption), their own audit thresholds and their own donor receipting rules. Generalists miss things, which exposes your board personally to compliance risk.
The AIS is the annual return every ACNC-registered charity must lodge — due six months after your financial year end (so 31 December for a 30 June year-end). It captures your activities, beneficiaries, finances and governance. Miss it twice and the ACNC can revoke your registration, which takes your tax concessions with it.
Depends on size. ACNC classifies charities as Small (under $500k revenue), Medium ($500k–$3M) or Large ($3M+). Large charities need audited financial statements. Medium charities need at least a review engagement. Small charities typically don't need either — though some state regulators or grant funders require it regardless of ACNC size.
Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) endorsement lets donors claim tax deductions on gifts to you — a major fundraising advantage. Eligibility depends on your activities matching a DGR category (PBI, HPC, public library, environmental organisation, religious instruction, etc.). We assess eligibility, prepare the application and assemble the evidence pack.
Registered Public Benevolent Institutions (PBIs) and Health Promotion Charities (HPCs) can salary-package up to $15,900 in concessional fringe benefits per employee per FBT year without FBT — plus a separate meal/entertainment cap. This is a huge staff retention tool. We set up the packaging, calculate FBT (if any) and lodge the return.
Special Purpose Financial Statements (SPFS) are simpler — fine for smaller charities with no external users beyond members and ACNC. General Purpose Financial Statements (GPFS) follow full Australian Accounting Standards and are required for larger NFPs or where there are external users (donors, funders, public). We work out which tier applies and prepare accordingly.
Plans start from $1,200 per year for small charities (revenue under $500k). Medium charities and DGRs start from $3,500 per year. Large charities requiring full audit prep are quoted up front. We're always fixed-fee, in writing, never hourly.
